Weekly Tarotcast: 4/2-4/8

This week's card wasn't pulled...it jumped right out of my deck when I was shuffling! I always listen to the "jumpers" though I did pull an additional card just to make sure the message was in line with the collective's energy. This short reading is intended to reveal insight for the collective consciousness, or the energies we as a unified society may experience in the coming week. The messages that you relate to are the messages you were meant to hear! If you are interested in expanding on how this energy will affect you in the coming week, I encourage you to book a three card reading so we can explore deeper.

Six of Wands

Keywords: Progress, Self-Confidence, Calmness of the Heart

It's been a little while since I used the Herbal Tarot deck for a collective reading but today it just felt "right". Like I said above, I was shuffling and asking what the general energy this week was and the Six of Wands jumped out at me. In the Six of Wands, we see a figure standing confidently with their eyes fixed on the future. He has successfully navigated a difficult situation or conflict and is ready to move forward and create success for himself. While the Six of Wands indicates public recognition and victory traditionally, this card is carrying a slightly different meaning for me this week.

The first thing that jumped out at me in this card was its correspondence to Hawthorn, a powerful heart healer both in a physical and spiritual sense. Hawthorn is mildly sedative and calming and is used for the heart and circulatory system. In a spiritual/emotional sense, Hawthorn fortifies the heart chakra and helps foster feelings of self love and love for those whom you have been in conflict. It's the primary ingredient in my Tender Heart Elixir, a traditional heart-healing remedy for grief, heartache, and cultivation of self-love.

I decided to explore the energy of this week a little further and pulled an additional card...the Three of Swords Reversed! Clearly we are focused on matters of the heart this week. It also seems that this reading is a continuation of the feelings we were experiencing last week with the Page of Wands Reversed. The good news is that last week's experience of things just not working out as you had hoped is beginning to pass. In combination with the Three of Swords Reversed, we know that you are on the path to recovery after this recent rough patch or heartbreak. The energy is shifting in your favor and victory is in the cards – now is the time to address unresolved conflict, forgive yourself and others involved in the conflict, and progress forward.

We also see a scroll in the Six of Wands' belt. A message from your heart, perhaps? Take a moment to tune in and ask yourself, “How am I am suffering? What do I most feel sorrowful about? What can I do to release this pain and learn from it?” And with the Six of Wands, ask yourself, "How can I move forward and regain my self-confidence?" If you are having an especially difficult time moving on and seeing the silver lining to the storm clouds, try communing with Hawthorn. Although we're on a shop hiatus, I've decided to make Tender Heart available for this week only – you can purchase it right here. This elixir is wonderful medicine for heartache, grief, and helps foster self-love. It has been especially helpful in my own self-care practice when I'm navigating tougher times.

Here is an affirmation from The Spirit of Herbs by Michael Tierra and Candis Cantin to help you embrace the energy of the Six of Wands this week:

"I confidently move forward in the direction that my heart dictates."
