Weekly Tarotcast: 2/21-2/25

My apologies for being a little late with this week's Tarotcast! The federal holiday on Monday threw my week off a little bit. While I pull a card every day for myself, I also like to take a moment to check in with the general energy of the week. This short reading is intended to reveal insight for the collective consciousness, or the energies we as a unified society may experience in the coming week. The messages that you relate to are the messages you were meant to hear! If you are interested in expanding on how this energy will affect you in the coming week, I encourage you to book a three card reading so we can explore deeper.

X of Pentacles RX

Keywords: Financial Failure, Loneliness, loss

The X of Pentacles Reversed doesn't always carry the most...positive message. While upright, this card signifies the celebration of finally accomplishing everything that you have worked for – especially financially – and being able to provide for you and your family for many years to come. But when reversed, the X of Pentacles indicates that something is getting in the way of this picture. Maybe the stability of your finances, family unit, or personal relationships has been shaken a bit.

This card shows us that even though we put forward a ton of effort in working towards a goal, we didn't quite build a solid foundation for it to stand on. We didn't plan well enough for the long term. Or maybe, something out of our control got in the way and caused us to experience a loss. This could be a relationship ending or something like the value of an investment decreasing.

To better understand the energy of the X of Pentacles Reversed, I decided to pull another card to help give you some guidance. It's never fun to just feel total disappointment and not know what to do about it!

V of Cups

Keywords: Loss, despair, Disappointment

There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time.
— Malcom X

Combined with the V of Cups, it is clear that we as a collective are feeling pretty down and out about our circumstances. We may be feeling completely overwhelmed with the loss of that thing we were investing in. We really thought that that financial investment or relationship was going to work out and we worked so hard to make it so. We're so dang bummed that this situation didn't play out in the way we thought it would.

We assigned an expectation to it and like the man in the V of Cups, we find ourselves sitting here pouting, saying that, "This shouldn't have happened! It should have happened this way!" Or maybe, "I should have done this better." Should, should, should. Getting caught up in what "should" have happened isn't going to help you right now. It is best to accept your present situation for what it is, and look at the other opportunities you have around you. The man in the V of Cups has only two spilled goblets – there are still three right in front of him that he could look towards. As this is #piscesseason, we also have a tendency to focus on the negative, allow ourselves to fall into victim mindset, and complain about our circumstances rather than do something about it. How do I know this? Well, I'm a Pisces and these are some of my negative traits.

So, try not to cry over spilled milk this week. There are better things for you out there. Remember that focusing on the present will help you stay emotionally grounded and will allow you to clearly identify the steps you need to take to move forward. Try this affirmation from The Spirit of Herbs by Michael Tierra and Candis Cantin to help you move forward from any disappointment you may be feeling this week:

"from my losses i gain the experience to create a brighter tomorrow."

Please reach out if you have any questions about these cards or the energies this week. I am here for you!

See ya next week,
Sarah
